Home made laundry soap

I think this kicks butt, and I'm totally going to try it. I'm not against laundry at 3 cents per load either.

I've started the Secret Garden, but I don't think it's as nice as the swatch was. I might have to rethink.

I dyed silk the other day, and its so darned gorgeous that you might just pee your pants (see link above for your laundry needs).

I love homemade laundry soap! My recipe is similar - mix together 13 cups Borax with 12 cups baking soda and 2 cups sulfoacetate (it has larger molecules than the similar chemical that's in store-bought soap). Wear a damp rag over your face - it's dusty stuff! Whisk 2/3 tablespoon of your favorite essential oil (I usually use lime, but lately have been using frangipani!) into 1/4 cup french clay powder. Add that to the other stuff and seal it in a big 2-3 gal pail. Use 2 tablespoons per load. It works a treat, although I do have a small tub of OxyBrite at the ready, to help with the dingies. ;-)
